Event Description
Avilés and Ribadesella (Asturias) will host next week the launchings of “Barcos de Cartón”
On May 28 and 29, the towns of Avilés and Ribadesella, in Asturias, will host the launching of the “Cardboard Boats”, built by primary school students from Marcelo Gago and Nuestra Señora del Rosario schools, respectively.
The “Cardboard Boats” project, promoted by the Blue Education association, seeks to bring the world of the sea closer to young people through direct experience, encouraging creativity, teamwork and respect for the maritime environment.
After the launchings in San Sebastián and Muros, Asturias will host next week those of Avilés, Ribadesella. Madrid will be the last of the activities, which will take place on June 6.
This initiative not only brings the sea closer to the new generations, but also reinforces the commitment of Educación Azul to the training of future professionals interested in the world of the sea and the blue economy. With moments of excitement and joy, the day has become a symbol of learning and adventure.
In addition to its pedagogical benefits, the project contributes to environmental awareness by encouraging reuse and recycling, and aligns with several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, such as quality education, gender equality, climate action and ocean conservation.
